There is a saying that goes â€Å"History repeats itself† and it has many times. For example when the â€Å"German Democratic Republic† decided to build the Berlin Wall to keep â€Å"West Berlin from surrounding East Germany† (The Berlin 1). It was constructed to â€Å"keep out emigrants† and the â€Å"flood of refugees† (The Berlin 1). The wall failed though in November of 1989 (Why did 1). The wall Trump wants to build is just repeating history. His plan is to build a wall along the Mexican-American border to keep out illegal immigrants and drug trafficking. Even though Trump’s idea of the border wall will keep out unwanted invaders, like any country would want, it will also create diplomatic and economic conflict and environmental issues amongnMexico and the†¦show more content†¦With this in mind, if the United States does build the wall along the Mexican-American border there are high risks for Mexico or America to leave NAFTA (N orth American Free Trade Agreement). Trump has stated in his campaign trail that he wants to â€Å"renegotiate† NAFTA. NAFTA was endorsed in the 1990’s and the countries of North America have traded with this agreement ever since (Greenberg 1). Despite this agreement keeping the peace among these three countries, Trump says, in a debate, â€Å"NAFTA is the worst trade deal maybe ever signed anywhere, but certainly ever signed in this country† (Greenberg 1). He plans to revise the agreement a bit with Canada but with Mexico he, in a way, wants a new agreement stating that Mexico will pay for the wall. Trump is pushing and finding different ways to get Mexico to pay and that will just cause more problems among the countries. The President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto, has stated multiple times that Mexico won’t pay for wall and has even canceled a meeting that was supposed to bring these two presidents to talk about relations among the nations. With Nieto canceling this important meeting alrea dy shows there’s conflict among the two leaders. Despite the two not agreeing on this controversial issue, Trump has began preparations for the wall to go up. Potok was born in New York City in 1929. He was raised in the Hasidic faith of Judaism. He grew up in a household where a high class of edicate and manners were enforced (Newsmakers. In 1954 he served as a chaplain for the United States army while posted in South Korea. Later on throughout his life he began a teaching post at the University of Judaism. As years of study flew by this motivated Jew, he managed to earn a doctorate in philosophy in the University of Pennsylvania. The next Two Years flew right by, leading to the event of him writing his very first novel, The Chosen One, which was the very first novel ever to have a Hasidic Jewish setting (Contemporary Authors Online). This was a serious impact and appraisal of the Judaism Religion. This life unique novel was on the New York’s best sellers list for approximately 6 months. Potok elaborated expanded his new style of writing-by-writing more books on the daily life of Jews and child’s stories. Smoking is the habit that I consider to be pointless, a waste of money and dangerous to your health and social life. Smoking really is the one thing I loathe and with it causing a staggering 110,000 unnecessary premature deaths a year I strongly believe it should be banished to room 101 eternally. It’s not that bigger deal is what you might be thinking now but wait until you hear the stomach churning, blood-curdling and spine chilling effects smoking has on you and everyone around you, they are what some call ‘Hair-raisers’. ?1. billion is what our nation’s worst habit is costing the NHS every year, with 50 diseases and illnesses linked to smoking, 20 of which can be fatal in percentage of cases. Additionally children who grow up in families of smokers have 50% more chance of being tobacco users when they are older than children brought up in a smoke free environment. Many times my friends and I have had to choose between suffocating in cigarette smoke and holding our breathes for, well too long whilst our eyes water from the smoke, smudging all our make-up just before meeting up with some friends in town as we have to walk by a ginormous group of selfish youths smoking because they think it makes them look cool. It doesn’t for the record and it also smells really, really bad. Who would want to be friends with someone whose hair, clothes and house smells like stale tobacco smoke? Not me, that’s for sure. Why on earth do people think their cool if they smoke IN joke shops they even sell fake cigarettes that look lit, just so people can pretend they’re smoking. But really it does not look cool and 40% of 16 year olds feel pressured into smoking by their friends and peers. Why should young people have to worry about being asked to have a smoke next time they go out with their friends when really they should be concentrating on school and GCSE’s? Similarly 60% of all smokers started smoking under the age of 17. These and too many other reasons to say, make me believe that smoking should be banished to the very depths of room 101 for the rest of eternity and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks this.
